Animated Movies
Lights, Camera, Action!
Well, my movies aren’t filmed exactly how the man in the picture is doing his movie. My uncle and I made short little 3 to 5 second animated movies. Actually, they’re just called “animations” but I like to call them movies.
My
animated movies create the image that little cartoons or pictures are moving.
How do I do it? We bought several pads of Post-It notes, then drew a person.
Now let’s say that I wanted this person to walk. Then I’d draw his leg a little
ferther up, and make it look like he’s walking. I’d keep on doing that until he
walks all the way across the Post-It notes.
How
do I make it come to life, or animate it? The next step is the “flipping”
process. Then I would flip the Post-It notes at a slightly fast speed. Since
the notes were moving so fastly, it made the illusion that the cartoon was
walking. It’s very fun and sort of easy, but it takes a lot of time if you want
to do it right. Below is a list of movies we made, and a short description
about each one.
